Alumni Association
After serving as president of the Alumni Association for two
years, Rich Roberts ’60 is passing the torch to Scott Cantor
’73.
Scott assumed the role on July 1 (see letter sidebar).
During his tenure, Rich energized the association with
his energy and dedication. Driving or flying from Maine,
often accompanied by his wife Marcia, Rich attended many
SKS events to meet former students and share his love of the
School. He sent out more than 300 emails to alumni. He spent
countless hours on the phone sharing the good news about the
School and recruiting alumni to attend Reunion.
We are proud of and grateful for the work Rich has accom-
plished and wish him the best in all he does.

Career Day
March 2013, Day TBD
The Storm King School
Dear Storm King Community,
I’m writing to you on behalf of our Alumni Association —
writing because I believe we have something to offer you.
Something you may have lost or forgotten, possibly never
had. That something needn’t cost you a dime, though your
gifts are needed for our School and greatly appreciated.
Part of what we have to offer is memories: springtime
breaking out on the Mountain after a long cold, snowy
winter; the rich smells of the Earth returning to life;
mountain winds blowing with pure passion, cleansing the
air, moving us into new seasons, fresh beginnings.
Then there’s the legacy of The Storm King School, a
legacy of greatness, a School to be proud to have
graduated from. The legacy of a school that rose to meet
the specific needs of each generation of its students —
that taught us community, nurtured us, and inspired us to
participate in being the very best we could be.
Sweet memories, growing pains, defeats and victo-
ries…What I’m offering to you is an opportunity for even
more than memories, more than seeing old friends. It’s an
invitation to be a community again, to be the “we.” To
experience the satisfaction, pride and joy of again being a
part of a great school. We can’t be that school without you.
Today’s young people need you to move them into the
future. “You only get to keep what you give away.”
So come to Reunion, visit with each other and today’s
School. Merge the past with the present. Teach a class,
speak of your lives, your work, your journey at Career Day.
Send some money to fix the gym lights, buy books for the
library or honor someone who loved you who has passed
away. Come shoot some hoops during the Alumni
Basketball Weekend. Let today’s varsity know what kind of
spirit our opponents were up against.
Come pass on in word and deed our community legacy
of decency, wonder, connection and excellence.
Help thy Brothers boat across and lo thine own has
reached the shore”(Hindu Proverb).
Sincerely,
Scott Cantor ‘73
Alumni Association President
