The Chair of the Board of Trustees
Whether I’m on campus for a
board meeting, athletic event, or
performance, I witness the pride
with which our students engage
their opportunity to live and
learn at Storm King.”
M
y upcoming 50th reunion has given me the opportunity to reconnect with class-
mates all over the country. Some have remained close friends, but all are part of my fond
memories of my time as a Storm King student. Whether or not you have been back to the
Mountain since graduation, this summer’s reunion gives us all a chance to relive a transfor-
mative time in our lives, learn how far our School has come, and envision its future.
Whether I’m on campus for a board meeting, athletic event, or performance, I witness
the pride with which our students engage their opportunity to live and learn at Storm King.
With our faculty’s outstanding instruction and mentorship, many have mastered their
academics, discovered their passion, and nurtured their talents. They look to the generations
of Storm King students who came
before them as they establish goals and look forward
to becoming alumni. Parents and guardians look
on with pride as their children embark on the most
formative experiences of their youth.
Alumni, students, parents, guardians, faculty, and
staff together comprise the stakeholders in our Storm
King School. The strength of our community relies
on our stakeholders’ diverse experiences and perspec-
tives coupled with their common commitment to the
School’s mission. Our 20-member Board of Trustees
serves our fellow stakeholders in our shared dedica-
tion to the Storm King community and its distinguished 146-year history. I invite you to assist us in that
endeavor; your comments, suggestions, and concerns are always welcome.
I ask that you consider the ways you might serve the school that has undoubtedly served you. We rely on
your support to ensure the School is able to provide the highest quality education to our students, but that
support comes in different forms. Financial contributions aid our efforts to make a Storm King education
affordable and accessible. At the same time, your personal support bolsters the strong community that defines
the Storm King experience.
Whether or not you can attend this year’s Reunion Weekend beginning June 7, I encourage you to
participate in one of our regional alumni events or visit our stunning campus another time. Students seek
role models and mentors who believe in their potential. Faculty and staff members are energized when they
learn of the paths their former students have taken. I expect that you will be pleasantly surprised by what our
School has become and the community it has built. You will see that the future is bright for Storm King, but
only because of the unwavering support of our stakeholders.
